ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN II

Architectural Design II (ADII) is the second module of architectural design. The principles and techniques of analysis, abstraction, and synthesis in design thinking—common to many design fields, including building and architecture—are introduced in this design module. The module's main focus is "User and Context," which examines the interaction between users and the surrounding environment. We engaged in a variety of studio-based activities during this module, including an examination of architectural spaces and construction through precedent studies and an inquiry of form and space through architectural conception. We were then tasked with creating a modest freestanding structure that relates to the site setting and satisfies user needs.

SELF-REFLECTION:

At the start of this module I was a bit overwhelmed by the short period given to complete the first two projects, but ultimately thru teamwork with my group mates I was able to persevere and we were able to complete our projects well. The final project had a lot for me to process, from site diagrams to user/case studies. But with the help of my tutor I was able to design a structure that I feel proud of.
