ARCHITECTURE HISTORY AND THEORY
Architecture History and Theory ( AHT ) introduces the principal developments in the western world from ancient times to post-World War 2 and its relevance to Post Merdeka/Independence Malaysian architecture. It also deepen our understanding of architectural theory through a consideration of intentions, concepts, patterns, disciplines, architectural language and contextual relationships.
SELF-REFLECTION
I have always had a great interest in history. With this module I was able to further my understanding into historical buildings that I have previously studied about. In this module we also had a group, it was not the easiest thing to coordinate everyone in doing the project, but overall I think as a team we were able to do a decent job. The module also opened my eyes to the need of better planning and time management.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
For this semester our classes were still conducted online, and it caused some of the lectures to be quite boring at times, especially when the lecturer is just reading from their slides. But there were also some fun parts like being able to win a 10 ringgit grab food voucher. My tutor was very understanding when we meet so technical issues when trying to join group meetings and helped guide us in organizing our designs. Our module coordinator Dr Filzani Illia was also a very patient and understand when we were overwhelmed with project or we facing difficulties in taking attendance. Overall it was mixed experience.
